TEN VISIONS @
THE CHICAGO ART INSTITUTE
The Art Institute of Chicago's provocative exhibition, Chicago Architecture: Ten Visions asked 10 Chicago architects to identify a significant issue for the city's future and design a spatial commentary on that issue. As the video artist for Elva Rubio's pavillion, S8 focused on satirizing architectural, conceptual and political narratives and frames, shaping the present and future city of Chicago.
Visual devices containing the satirical narratives were placed in empty balloon box frames throughout the space. The pavillion’s design allowed visitors to become voyeurs, peering inside to alternative visions of existing relationships and prophesying about the future of Chicago's built environment.
